Today’s the big one: CPI drops at 8:30 AM ET, and it’s landing on a setup that’s already leaning bearish before a single number prints.
SPY and QQQ are both sitting just below their pivots this morning, while NVDA is the lone holdout still hanging on above its line. That’s a meaningfully different picture than a fully synchronized read in either direction — two of three names already lean the way our house call points, but until NVDA either joins them or pulls the other two back up, this stays a “need confirmation” morning, not a green light.

Session Bias: Neutral–to–Bearish, Need Confirmation — 30% bull / 40% bear / 30% chop.

What’s driving it: the nominal 10–year is still parked right under 5%, VIX is elevated versus Thursday’s close, the dollar keeps grinding higher, and breadth deteriorated again across large–caps, tech, and small–caps. Oracle’s AI–cloud beat after the close is a genuine tailwind for NVDA specifically, but it’s competing with the macro headwind, not neutralizing it.
Bottom line: a synchronized loss of all three pivots after CPI opens the downside path; a synchronized reclaim opens the upside path. Today’s session hinges on which side NVDA ultimately falls on.
